Today, with a shaky economy, layoffs and cutbacks in the workforce are inevitable. You certainly want to keep your job, but how can you make yourself a valued employee to your boss?
Gossip and gripes will eventually get to the boss and they won’t benefit you in any way. In fact, griping about your job – even in online blogs – can hurt you.
Once you have determined your heart’s delight you must do more research. Don’t whine! This is the kind of homework that really pays off so forget Harvard and hello Gucci! Rev up your computer for some extensive power downloading. Ferret out all the places you can find a description of the purse even if it involves trying to decipher Japanese hieroglyphics. Celebrity gossip sites are great for seeing how a bag should be worn and also for cluing you in on a bag’s “hotness”. If you see every ‘It’ girl in sight sporting your baby it means that you are in love with an ‘It’ bag – not good news. ‘It’ bags have long waiting lists and too many gals wanting to pay even more than the asking price.
Begin by making a list of the features you expect from a dating site. Think of the ease of navigation, security and privacy factors, ability to post or view a person’s picture and the detail of the personality follow magazines. As you go through the different dating websites, see if they meet or exceed the expectations on your list.
Celebrate. Find an everyday situation and treat it as a celebration. For instance, if you complete a report on time, mentally congratulate yourself. Or if you delegate a task again congratulate yourself.
It is a good idea to set up an in-person meeting shortly after meeting online or being set up by mutual friends however, don’t come off as if you have no life outside of work and that you have no hobbies or social engagement options. I know this sounds like “game-playing” but perception is reality. If the other party thinks that you are desperate they may not see you as a high value individual and this may send a negative vibe before you ever get a chance to meet.
And now you are ready to send your first online dating email and make a good impression! The most important point is the first one. Never try to be something you are not for anyone. The only way you will find true love is to find someone that will accept you as you are!
