Increasing Website Traffic Through Blogs

Blogs were originally only meant to be ‘Web Logs’, or personal journals for members of on-line communities to stay in touch, sort of like ‘underground news media’. But, it didn’t take long for net-repreneurs (internet entrepreneurs) to catch on to their popularity and to find ways to use them to make money. The human mind is infinitely creative and nothing really stays the same.

A blog entry was even used to catch a killer in May of 2005, when a person was blogging and mentioned in his blog that his sister’s boyfriend was at the house – right before he and his sister were murdered! Blogs have been used to figure out what caused people to commit suicide, and even to figure out why some people have committed crimes.

Readers always look for contents and topics that are very useful to them. Those that are not are useless. That is why in creating blogs topics should not be pertinent long time ago. It should always be fresh! It should always be pertinent in the present times. Yet, no matter how we consider our blogs as fresh after a few days or weeks they are already overripe. Thus, blogs should always be updated for readers to keep coming back. This could be an avenue for you to invite them to visit your site. More to that, the more traffic you can get in your blogs, the faster you can build your list.

But how does any of this tie in to online profits? Well, one of the key aspects of blogs is that they are updated often. As such, search engines love to spider blogs. They also love the way information is organized on Brainstorming, so blogs can quickly become quality search engine spider food. This translates to traffic, and if you’re smart enough to stuff your blog with links to your primary site, you can convert that traffic into sales.

It does take time to set up a blog and it takes effort. It takes time to list the blog in the blog directories. The trick is, as with any WebSite to see if you can get some important “niche” and “original” information into your blog. That will let it stand out to the search engines. Search engines today are putting a great deal of emphasis on “original content”, as can be seen just from the many article submission sites that have become much more stringent in their article acceptance process. Non-original content does no one any good. So put “original” content into your web Blog.

This awesome entrepreneurial spirit transmogrified Blogs into what they are today: very powerful marketing weapons that have almost made some other forms of advertising, redundant. It never ceases to surprise me how ingenious people are when it comes to finding new ways to generate cash flow, particularly in web marketing – what a power-house!! It leaves real-world business for dead (in my opinion).

Take as much care writing a pitch for a blogger as you do for a national magazine, TV show, or other outlet. Many bloggers don’t respond because they get blase pitches that treat them like the sewer rat of media. Not cool.
