When I was a kid, my family would take an annual vacation. Dad would tell mum when his vacation days had been and mother would go to the local travel agent office and make the hotel arrangements.

Make food blog a good impression! Arrive early. It’s easier to get to know people when there aren’t too many competing for the same person’s attention. It’s also easier to get noticed in a small group than in a large one.

In real life, Denise is a model, actress, and avid twitter. She often tweets about her travels between her hometown of NYC and LA where the show recently relocated. Denise also gives insight into her friendship with onscreen frenemy Madison (actress Stephanie Gatschet), NYC Restaurant recommendations (@HelloPasta is a favorite of the actress) and the occasion retweet of an inspirational quote.
It was also a place to write down all the interesting observations and cute anecdotes that I didn’t want to bore my friends with. I also wrote down all my fears and frustrations and was amazed to find out that other people felt the same. I write day after day because I truly love writing. I write CityMama for me and for my children, but I don’t mind sharing a peek into our lives.
I do think, however, that the cookbooks that will do the best today are ones which have a presence online as well – an author who Tweets, a blog to supplement the stories and recipes on the printed page. As an example, I recently bought Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day (which I love) because I read about it on several blogs, saw a few of their videos on YouTube, and then found one of the authors on Twitter and chatted with her.
