There has been much written about the environmental consequences of carbon oil extraction. While it’s true that there are some serious negatives associated with carbon drilling the majority of these are coming from the fact that not all of the carbon ultimately produced is going to be burned up as fuel. Because carbon dioxide is an absorbent in the soil, oil injected into crust of the earth could cause it to enter the aquifers beneath the ground, which have a natural carbon dioxide storage capacity of thousands of years. If the climate isn’t altered to increase the levels of CO2 in soil and aquifers, then the cycles of life of animals and plants living in those zones will be drastically affected, and sometimes even completely eradicating species.
These types of potent greenhouse gas emissions have to be considered seriously, not only due to their potential environmental consequences however, they pose an immediate threat to the future of our civilization and way of life on Earth. Scientists agree that fossil fuels such as oil, coal and natural gas need to be limited to preserve the world for future generations. The continuous production of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere is preventing us from making efforts to limit climate change to ensure that future generations don’t suffer the consequences of climate change.

The US Environmental Protection Agency has provided support to the company for their Carbon Oil research project. The project is investigating the negative effects on emissions and energy savings associated with a carbon dioxide enhanced oil recovery (CAD) system. This technology permits the transportation, capture, and utilization carbon dioxide enhanced oil waste. Carbon Oil’s CAD technology also allows the separation of gases and liquids from heavy gas and fuel oil scrubbing operations.
